And for those who prefer a more leisurely style of holiday there are easy walks on Fish Hoek beach,  whale watching (Sept- November), hiking and caving on nearby mountains, snorkelling in the rocky coves of the bay.
Further afield there is:
  Kalk Bay fishing harbour
  world renown Kirstenbosch Gardens, Table Mountain,
  Cape Town's waterfront and the Cape winelands.

The swimming in False Bay waters is safe for the very young. When the surf is up, it is exciting enough for the adventurous boogie boarders and surfers.
